It’s that time the year when people who work in the winter resort business take a deep breath, pick their heads up to see how things had gone over the past winter. It’s a time for some reflection, some key strategic decisions for the “still on the horizon” winter and to enact plans for any sort of summer promotion that might need to be done. For resort marketers, it isn’t necessarily a “dead time”, but it’s probably one of the slower times in terms of having to be in the office doing things. This is why I love a program that we are offered which allows us to either take the month of May or June off, pretty much in their entirety. It makes sense in that it allows us to recharge our batteries, but it also pushes us to take our vacation time during months most conducive to a ski resort – good idea? Well, I certainly think so! 🙂

In any case, along with taking May Away from my “real job”, I am planning on taking a shorter, but similar break from the Resort Marketing Blog, to save up some ideas, hash out some others and come back refreshed and recharged. Please feel free to leave a comment or drop me a note (use sphrrt (@) if you have any ideas or things you think should be covered on the Resort Marketing Blog, or if you want to write a post yourself.

Finally, thanks for reading, you’re what keeps writing this blog fun!
