Wonderful Weekend on the Slopes
0Even though I managed to swing by my desk at work both on Saturday and Sunday this past weekend, it was well worthwhile. On Saturday, I snuck in by myself and got in a bunch of great early season turns on freshly opened terrain that included several shots of days old, but still fun, powder.

Little k on Crescent Lift on the way up!
On Sunday, my wife was feeling a bit under the weather so I got to take our 3 1/2 year old up to the mountain for some skiing all by myself. A completely different experience from the day before but just as fun and even more rewarding. Who else has had some great times at skis or snowboard so far this season?

Live Streaming Snow Safety
0When the opportunity to ‘ride along’ with the snow safety team presents itself, I jump at it. Which is how I wound up on Pinecone Ridge yesterday morning at a very early hour (not much after 7am) – tagging along to watch our team make the slopes safe for us all to ski and ride. I’d brought along my Droid phone with the hopes of testing some live streaming. Unfortunately the winds on the ridge top were cranking so hard that it was impossible to shoot any of the bombing, but I did get this Qik video of some of the patrollers skiing down afterwards:
The quality isn’t ‘epic’, but to me, this shows that livestreaming the opportunity to provide unique and real time video connections that can show very interesting aspects of the resort industry.
Another day at the office
2I spent practically the entire afternoon today in back-to-back meetings and felt as if I were going backwards instead of forwards. However, it’s awfully hard to even think about complaining about a day that starts off like this:
I guess it just goes to say that working for a ski resort is not without some benefits!
Time for fun!
6Here we are, remembering what it’s all about:
Shot this morning, (you can catch a glimpse of me skiing in the red coat behind Nikki)…thanks to Erik for shooting and editing, Dogger for guiding, Matt and Nikki for modeling, JT, Allison and Steph for driving and Billy for letting us get up there!
